Quarter horses, the western way
Horses have been part of Kileekie for as long as the cattle. We keep American Quarter Horses and ride them western, brought on with patience and good groundwork. They are family, not stock, and they are not for sale. We mention them here because the farm would not be the same without them, and because they are stitched right through the Kileekie name.
Halle
Our black quarter horse, and the one you will most likely meet if you visit. Quiet to handle, willing under saddle and full of the calm cow sense the breed is known for. Quarter horses suit this ground and this way of working: low natural headset, level temperament, and an easy partnership built slowly rather than forced.
Visitors are welcome by arrangement.
Arrange a VisitChance
Andrew rode Chance, a chestnut quarter horse, for many years. If the western rider in the Kileekie artwork looks familiar, that is because it is drawn from a photograph of Andrew and Chance. He is gone now, but he is still very much part of the place, carried in the brand he helped shape.
